The secret behind the Victoria’s Secret glow: these products are used by the Angels

By

If you watched the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show you undoubtedly noticed it: the radiant skin of the Angels. This is truly a VS signature: glowy shoulders, shiny legs, and a subtle golden shimmer. But what is the secret behind that coveted glow? With the right techniques and products, you can surprisingly get close.

Which body oil is used during the VS show?

Although it has not been officially announced which body oils were specifically used this year, products from brands founded by the Angels themselves have been used in recent years. When Miranda Kerr was a guest on the podcast Well with Arielle Lorre earlier this year, she revealed that during her time as a VS model, all models used the Noni Body Oil from her brand Kora Organics all over their bodies. Miranda walked her last show in 2012, so that was quite a while ago. Jasmine Tookes launched her bodycare brand Brunel last year, and of course, she wore her own Golden Hour Glow Body Oil during the show. Unfortunately, her brand is not yet available in the Netherlands.

Mishel Chernyavskiy, the spray tan artist behind the looks of the shows from 2025 and 2026, mentioned on Instagram that they liked to use the Patrick Ta All Over Glow Balm backstage. During last week's show, I spotted the Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Shine Diva Dust Shimmer Powder in her hand while she was prepping the models for the runway. That radiant, sun-kissed finish usually comes from combining different products: from a good spray tan and body makeup to a bronze shimmer lotion or oil. As a final step, shimmer powder is applied to set the spray tan and give the skin extra shine.

How do you create such a glow at home?

Many of these products are quite expensive and hard to find in the Netherlands. If you're looking for a dupe for Patrick Ta's balm, Rituals sells their own All-over Glow Balm. I am also a fan of the Nuxe Multi-Purpose Dry Oil, and the Monpure Shimmer & Hydrate oil has a lot of shimmer in it. The Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs is also a classic; this is a kind of glowy foundation in spray form. Tyla, who performed during the show in 2024 and is known for her body glow, told British Vogue that she is a fan of the Sol De Janeiro body oil. Whatever products you choose, to add extra shine, emphasize your shins, shoulders, collarbones, and décolletage.

What should you consider when choosing the right oil?

Not every oil is the same. Light oils, such as jojoba and grape seed oil, generally absorb faster and leave less of a greasy layer behind. Coconut, argan, and marula oil can feel a bit richer, depending on the formula. Which oil suits you best depends on the finish you are looking for.

The shimmer also makes a difference; some oils contain mica, a very finely ground mineral that provides a subtle shine, while others contain coarser glitter.

Finally, the color plays a role. Champagne gives a soft, subtle glow, gold provides a sunny appearance, and bronze gives the skin a deeper, sun-kissed finish.

The secret of that Victoria’s Secret glow ultimately lies not in one magical product, but in layering different products. You don't have to buy the most luxurious body oil on the market to achieve a glowing skin. With a good oil, some shimmer, and a few smart tips, you can already make great progress.
