LIESBETH’S RARITIES CABINET
DAVE ROELVINK
Today the Curiosity Cabinet opens its doors for the second time and after careful consideration, it was decided that we will focus on Dave Roelvink. Because until a little over a month ago, we had hardly ever heard of Dave, now it's Dave before and Dave after. Not for the best reasons, by the way, because as you probably know, Dave is world-famous for being involved in a rather lucrative jewel heist. For those who have been living under a rock, here's a little update.
– At the end of July, Dave had come into conversation with a girl (Melissa) after ‘partying’ who asked if he and his friends could come over to her place to ‘afterparty.’ The next morning, it turned out that over 60,000 euros worth of jewelry, iPads, and other valuable items had disappeared. Melissa turned to Facebook, posting, “My life is ruined. How pathetic can you be when you invite me to celebrate a party at my place and then rob our house!!!” Melissa's family hired a private detective to get clarity, and Dave washed his hands of it, saying, “It's terrible that you can get involved in such a case in one night just because you're a bit famous.”
– Because you're a bit famous. Right. Not at all because you and your criminal friends are emptying a whole house and having indecent acts performed by the daughter of the house. Because it turned out, Dave's friends informed the family that if they didn't drop the charges, they would release videos showing the daughter performing fellatio on, yes, Dave. So now we have theft + blackmail. Good luck!
– But anyway, Dave is of course still completely innocent. On August 12, he comes ‘pouting and angrily blinking his blue eyes to RTL Boulevard to say that he really hasn't done anything and that he is oh so pathetic because I am so famous and everyone is against me. Moreover, he believes that the robbed family is to blame and that they are after his FAME. At that moment, nothing is known about the sex video.
“You just can't make this up”
– Then it's August 15, and it turns out that the police really thinks differently about it, and so Dave has to go to jail. Our Dave doesn't like that at all; later he says, “I like being outside, a cell is not for me.” But okay. The family's lawyer says that his client cannot cause reputational damage to Dave because “then you must first have a reputation.” HAHA. Dave found that less funny and decided to sue the family for defamation and slander. You just can't make this up.
– Okay, this story is threatening to get way too long, so I'm going to shift into a higher gear.
– It boils down to the fact that more and more evidence is surfacing that Dave is not as innocent as he would like to be. In the meantime, there are two fellatio videos circulating of which especially the second one is quite shocking and misogynistic. Melissa is roughly shaken by her hair, and the whole picture is really terrible to watch. Now you could say, silly Melissa, you shouldn't let yourself be filmed during such an act, but the poor child probably didn't even know that someone would be so cowardly as to actually publish it. Dave's lawyer characterizes him as “a 19-year-old boy who is really scared and didn't want to know anything about this” but that image is little left after seeing the videos. Moreover, he keeps ranting about how his reputation is going down the drain because of this issue, but HELLO can we talk about how HER reputation is especially being destroyed?!
– Finally, there is a nice little triangle going on. Because Dave's manager (how does he even have one) is Nathan Moszkowicz, the son of Bram, and Dave's lawyer is Nienke Hoogervorst, Bram's girlfriend. Isn't that funny?.
– The last word has not yet been said here because rumors are circulating that there are even more videos, and moreover, nothing is still clear about what Dave has or hasn't done.
This cabinet will therefore have a sequel!
