Tomorrow I will be away for a week. Ibiza. When May-Britt forwarded me this look from Valentino, I knew this would be my Ibiza look. I mean, those shells in the hair, mermaid waves, and shine in the hair scream vacation, of course. The other way around too. Nice hairstyle during these autumn months because this way you carry a bit of summer with you. So we all benefit a little from it.

You are probably curious how to create this look. You either take a dive in the salty sea (I’ll stop there), or you spray your hair with a texture spray. This gives you the same result that is also a bit healthier for the hair. Then you use the hairdryer to create prettier and messier waves. Next, use the curling iron and curl some sections of hair. Hold the ends and do not curl them. This way you get a nicer effect.

You now have the base. Now you make braids in the hair that you bring back together. You can fluff the braid quite a bit, so you no longer see that it is basically a braid, but it keeps everything together and doesn’t sag. The shells and stars are of course not loose in the hair. You tie them together with a string, and you thread that string through the braid. Let some strands fall over it and you won’t see that string anymore.

So it’s a bit of a craft project, but hey, a mermaid must also have some work to incorporate those stars and shells in her hair.
