Janneke Bastiaans has been taking care of PR for Christian Dior for years. You could say it's a match made in heaven because Janneke is, just like her brand, classy, stylish, sparkling with a strong touch of individuality. Exactly how Monsieur Dior liked to see his women. Since the boutique in the PC opened its doors, Janneke has also taken on the PR for the Dior fashion division in her portfolio. Her favorite bag is from... well, you can guess.
Wow. You have an absolute masterpiece on your arm, tell me how did you get it?
‘Yes, I almost dare not say it, but I received this gem in January from my Parisian colleagues when I started working for the Fashion PR of Dior. I had always only worked for the cosmetics division of Dior before, and it was time for a new step. You understand; a little dance of joy occurred when unpacking this gift.
And what’s all inside?
‘Anyway, it’s always way too full. I always have my notebook, iPhone, keys, and makeup bag (for a little touch-up during the day) with me. The rest is filled with little bits and pieces, receipts, cards that I hastily didn’t put back in my wallet, and an extra straw. For my homemade green smoothie that I dutifully drink every morning in the car.
I try to clean out my bag every weekend. Just to bring some order to the chaos.’
Do you take good care of it? Or do you sometimes throw it carelessly in the corner?
‘No, I am very careful. I usually hang it on the long strap on a chair. All my other designer bags are neatly stored in my closet.’
Do you have requirements when buying a bag?
‘Definitely, it has to be practical and sturdy. So that I can pack my bag full without feeling guilty. I really love timeless models, but with a trendy touch. Like this Dior bag. It’s a classic piece with the latest summer color, perfect then.’
Is there a bag on your wish list?
‘I would really like to have a Miss Dior bag. A black one, because it goes with everything. But maybe also a very fresh color. I’ll dream about that for a while.’
Do you already have someone in mind who will inherit this bag one day?
‘No idea, I want to enjoy it myself for a long time to come.‘
