You know Mo. He has already been in our Look of the day twice, namely here and here. He writes for Style.com and if you want some clothing advice, you should just give him a call. He knows the shit baby.

Mo was on the standby list for the Victoria’s Secret show today, but unfortunately. And that’s really a shame because one of his best friends Iman is walking. “Even the American Vogue only gets two tickets, they are incredibly strict.” For us a bit of luck, because now he had time for a mini-interview about his bag.

How many designer bags do you have?

“Phew, do you want a sympathetic answer? I really think about twelve. But there are also document holders among them, you know.”

How did you get this beauty?

“Bought in Paris. I wanted to buy a bag that no one had. I also think Mulberry and Tod’s are cool, but you see them a bit more often. You don’t expect a Céline from a man.”

Are you careful with it or do you sometimes throw it in the corner?

“This bag gets more beautiful as it gets older. And also more masculine by the way. I don’t throw it around, because otherwise my iPad would be broken, but it’s also not my heart or kidney that I walk around with. At the end of the day, it’s just a bag.”

What about the contents? Are you a chaotic person or neatly organized?

“That’s funny, I just submitted a piece about the “10 essentials every guy should carry in his briefcase,”, here they come: a pen, a planner, an iPhone charger, the newspaper of the day, iPad plus iPad case, notepad, chewing gum, business card (in a nice case), wallet with cash and my ID card. And possibly a good book. That’s it. I also always make sure that I have vitamin C and green tea in my bag at certain places, like at the office, in my bag, at home, or at the editorial office in New York. I can say I’m quite organized, yes.”

You can surely tell what a bag does for a woman.

“Coincidentally, I was brainstorming with friends recently and we found out that women have an incredible amount of advantages. For example, it doesn’t matter how thick or thin a woman is, or if they have a huge hangover and don’t look that great, because they need two things and the sex appeal is back. Namely shoes and a bag. Boom, and they’re back.”

Do you prefer trendy or classic? And should a bag also be practical?

“Yes, I find practicality important. For example, I’m also very happy that backpacks are allowed again. They sit comfortably and you have your arms free. It has to be beautiful and practical. Is that allowed too?”

And lastly, is there one on your wishlist?

“For the little boy in me this backpack from Maje and for the man in me this briefcase from Bottega Veneta.”
