TWERKIN’ FOR A BIRKIN

At times she behaved very much like Britney in 2007 – you know, when she shaved her head and was hitting a car with an umbrella, her eyes bulging. She was on stage at the VMAs twerking with Robin Thicke while sticking her tongue out for practically eight minutes straight. It was about time for Smiley (as her father affectionately calls her) to adopt a new image.

A strong fashion signature is what a moderately talented singer needs. Miley knows this all too well. She wobbled on the ever-slippery fashion path for a while. From thick eyebrows to light ones to none at all. Miley tried everything. From long boring hair to a shorter cut. Then she sought intimacy with the gentlemen designers. Cavalli designed her world tour outfits and she became the face of Marc Jacobs’ latest campaign. Normally, she looks incredibly hipster, with beanie and all. But at Jay Leno, she presented her modest self in a denim pants and blouse combo from Saint Laurent.

But especially her W Magazine photos made all the fashionistas push their big sunglasses to the tip of their noses. The cover resembles a fusion of Lady Gaga and Donatella and it seems to confirm her fashion image. We can't call Miley consistently stylish, but at least she is moving from style-less towards stylish.
