hardest working model girl

You see her in perfectly styled outfits in the front row or posing for the press at Lincoln Center in New York, in front of the Grand Palais in Paris, or in Corso Venezia in Milan. Miroslava Duma is everywhere and always looking her best. You would almost forget that she has a husband, a child, and a thriving business. Report of a day,

07:00 I wake up after only two hours of sleep (which happens more often). I went to bed at 05:00 after a very enjoyable evening with the Louis Vuitton team at the Ritz-Carlton. Before that, I was at the opening of the Stella McCartney store and before that, I hosted an event at the Tsun store in Moscow where I spoke with designer Mary Katrantzou. I am the Digital Media Director at Tsun, but there is a lot more involved, including bringing British designers to Moscow. Where was I? I shower, wash my hair, and make porridge for my three-year-old son George, my husband, and myself.

08:00 I usually know quite quickly what I am going to wear, but I also often have to think in the morning about what I will wear that evening. If there is an event, I go straight there from work. I live just outside the city, and with the traffic in Moscow (especially when Vladimir Putin is driving to the airport or the Kremlin, it’s a madhouse), it’s impossible to go home and change there. My look for tonight will be a red lace Valentino playsuit with golden embroidery. I am often photographed, which is quite misleading. People often think I don’t have a job or that I am a model, which is both not true. I work very hard and also feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. But I love clothes, that’s for sure. My day outfit will be black trousers from Vika Gazinskaya and a double-breasted white jacket from Proenza Schouler.

09:00 I get into my SUV, which is my mobile office. I change clothes in it and have three phones with me, one of which is always ringing, and I have WIFI so I can Skype, email, everything.

10:00 I arrive at the office where a lot is changing. We are now forming a team of 35 people. All freelancers scattered around the world. We are meeting today about formats, special projects, and other activities taking place this week.

12:30 Back to the car for a lunch meeting with the Buro Production Company we recently partnered with. They hosted, for example, the Dior show at Red Square and the Chanel Numéros Privés exhibition.

14:30 I go to Vogue café for a meeting with the owner, Arkady Novikov, to discuss a new café concept with a fashionable twist.

15:00 I speak with the director of the cultural charity foundation Peace Planet. I am involved with one of the upcoming charity dinners where the best Russian directors will make short films for an auction. We hope to raise a million dollars that evening.

16:00 I go to Tsun for a debrief meeting about the event from last night. We would have loved to have the Olsen sisters there because their brand The Row is new here, and we want to introduce it to the clients. Dolce & Gabbana is number 1 here, Gucci 2.

18:00 I change in the car and go to a friend's bachelorette party. We meet at Tverskoy Boulevard where I always take friends from London or New York. It’s so old Russian, I’m in love with that place.

19:00 If I can skip something in an evening program, I am the happiest person on earth. Mara, I’m looking forward to it tonight. We have a private box at the Bolshoi Theater and are going to see La Traviata. A surprise for the bride-to-be.

21:00 I’m not staying for dinner. No dancing and drinks for me tonight. I’m going home to see George and my husband for a bit. We play, read, and eat together. I put George in the bath and lay him in bed. He can just say: ”Mommy, I love you to the moon.” And then I melt.

00:30 I pack my suitcase, set the alarm, and go to sleep.

04:30 I’m up again and heading to the airport. Next stop: Kazakhstan where we are launching a Buro franchise.

07:00 Opstijgen.
