Food & Drinks

Today, live from New York, I treat you to a smoothie. I bought this at a very trendy juice bar, but you can easily make this at home yourself.

Liesbeth and I popped by the Juice generation between all the shows, around the corner from Lincoln Centre (THE place where most shows are held). I became slightly hysterical in this shop because the menu was full of smoothies I had never heard of. And besides the well-known wheatgrass, they sold shots of ginger/lemon/cayenne pepper or Aloe Vera. Everything was equally healthy, energetic, and skinny. I wanted to try everything. I chose a Kale Kolada and Liesbeth chose the I love Watermelon, actually a – as she puts it – refined ice pop, but really delicious.

What do you need and how do you make it:

I love watermelon

  • Watermelon
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Pomegranate juice

Kale Kolada

  • Spinach
  • Kale
  • Young coconut (the water and a bit of the flesh, you scrape it out with a spoon)
  • Banana

Kale and spinach might sound a bit odd and not necessarily very tasty, but really, this is go-o-d.

Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix it up. From New York, Happy Monday!
