Nicky Opheij is the winner of Holland’s Next Topmodel. Winning the finale was the endpoint of the TV program but is the start of a new life. Nicky takes you along in her life every Saturday.
Monday my alarm went off at 09:00. I could really use that little extra sleep after that intense but great weekend I had.
I stayed with my buddy Daan over the weekend. We ate at Club Dauphine and on Saturday I trained with Dennis, the personal trainer from Touché Models and The Model House. On Sunday I attended an event in The Hague where 5000 screaming teenage girls wanted to take a picture with me. I couldn't believe what was happening. I can still remember that I used to be exactly the same, haha!
It's a strange difference: this is how I spend my weekends in Amsterdam in a completely different life than when I'm back home in Handel. Here it's just normal and familiar: like I've had it for 19 years. In Amsterdam it's just very different, the environment and the people, but I actually really like it. That's why I can't wait to live in Amsterdam.
On Tuesday I just went to school and took a math exam, which to be honest, I don't feel very good about. In the afternoon I did some sports and then cooked with my little brother Jordi.
Normally I always go for a walk after dinner, but a very good friend of mine had surgery that day and I went to visit him in the hospital. During that hospital visit, suddenly all the nurses came in to ask if they could take a picture with me, haha! Wesley, that's my friend's name, didn't mind, he told me that the nurses were suddenly much happier. So I did a good deed after all.
On Wednesday the alarm went off early again. Quickly got dressed and washed my face with the wonderful products from Yentil Oil. I received these because I won HNTM. They are really lovely!
I was busy with school all day and I'm so busy with it that to be honest, I'm really happy when it's over. I'm also spending a lot of time on my schoolwork at home, but luckily I still have time to cook for my parents. And it was delicious.
I walked a long time with the dog (that's good for my body) and I did some good planking again. 3 x 1 minute today, I'm still suffering from muscle pain, haha.
Thursday was a gift. My alarm went off at a quarter past 7. Just as I was about to leave, I got a text from school that all classes were canceled. I didn't know how quickly I had to get back into bed so I could sleep for another hour.
After that, I trained all morning and went for a walk. I also went to Karwei to return my work clothes. With tears in my eyes, I must say, because I always worked there with a lot of pleasure and I'm going to miss my dear colleagues terribly.
A friend also came by. We rewatched the finale of HNTM. I can't get enough of it. I also received a nice card at home today from my classmates from elementary school. How nice is that! In the evening I did some stretching again and then I enjoyed hanging out with my parents and little brother in front of the television. I hope you do the same this weekend!
