Forget Santa and Saint because Sale is coming to town. How do you prepare for it?
Do you recognize that? Around this time, late November, I, yes quite exceptionally, keep a tight grip on my wallet. I am in a state of appropriate frugality but of course for a reason. Everything, I’m talking fashion, for which I normally quickly pull out the credit card, I leave neatly alone. The idea that I can score the same item with a hefty discount in the sale within a manageable time makes me hold back. Of course, there is a small risk that the item will be sold out by then, but experience has taught that there is usually enough left.
What should you pay attention to during the sale so that you can maintain that delightful feeling after your purchases and avoid buying mistakes? Voilà, here are some pitfalls and tips:
* Make sure you are on the mailing list of your favorite stores. You will receive an email notification when the sale starts and who knows, you might be invited for a pre-sale earlier.
Who knows, you might be invited for a pre-sale earlier.
* If you are a good customer, you can ask, even if the sale hasn’t officially started yet, if you can already get a sale discount. In any case, it’s worth a try.
* Take the time to do some research. So first look to buy later. Especially go to stores that you might normally find too expensive and select what has caught your eye.
Tip: If you try on the item in advance, it saves you time at the moment of the sale.
* Always inventory what you already have hanging in your closet first. If you already have a stack of black tops, that umpteenth one isn’t really an addition. To avoid this, you can ask the following questions about everything you want to buy: ‘Can I think of things from my existing wardrobe that I could combine it with?’ Also always consider whether you would want the item as much if you had to pay full price for it.
* Especially during the sale, it is worth investing in quality. Think for example of an expensive winter coat or beautiful cashmere and always good basics.

* Stay true to your style and don’t be tempted by something you would normally never choose.
* Even if it costs almost nothing, always try it on!!! Because keep in mind that clothing on sale usually cannot be exchanged!
* The longer you wait, the higher the discounts. Unfortunately, there is also the risk that it will no longer be available.
* Check out the new collection for the next season. See if you can wear the discounted item longer so that you can still use it next season.

* And finally, I advise you to wear easy clothing when you go shopping: clothes that you can quickly and easily put on and take off. Also pay attention to your lingerie. You feel much better when you look at yourself in the mirror of the fitting room in a presentable set. And well-fitting underwear (bra) ensures that clothing and your body look better.
Veel plezier!
