6 Things That Are Suddenly Hot
As if we all agreed on it in a plenary meeting, there are those things you notice. Ordering mint tea suddenly seems inappropriate. Or at least absolutely not cool anymore. There are those things that we seem to let go of at the same time to embrace other things in the trendy arms. Here comes the catch of this summer.
1. Coconut Water
Or actually everything with coconut. Coconut milk in your soup, coconut oil in your hair but especially coconut water. Good for skin and inside and, importantly, the perfect anti-hangover drink.
2. Men with Buns and Beards
So we are talking about an and-and situation here. So a beard below and a bun above. I think it’s a reaction to the wild beard trend. It shows that you are indeed very masculine but at the same time have a soft and well-groomed side.
3. Ripped Jeans
Of course, ripped jeans were already there in the eighties. Back then just called the ‘torn jeans’. But now ripping has been elevated to an art form. And the goal is to be more naked than naked. Think Kim Kardashian and then add a little more on top of that. Or should I say, a piece of jeans off.
4. Multiple Piercings
I have also gone under the knife and I see everyone around me with a multiple pierced ear. It gives just a slightly unexpected feeling. Those two holes with the same earring in each ear are really sooo, what should I say, yesterday?
5. Gin and Tonic
Really, you won't be handcuffed by the style police if you order a glass of rosé but the hip and happening order a gin and tonic on the terrace. They make it of now by adding a slice of cucumber or some thyme. And don’t forget the type of tonic. Fever Tree is the shit. The gin is of course also crucial, Tanqueray Tan is the one that makes an impression. Hendrick’s Gin is also a recommendation. If those are really nowhere to be found, you can pull out the Bombay Sapphire, but in that case, we recommend preparing the drinks in the kitchen. Out of sight of your company.
6. Normcore
All in (bath) slippers in the most understated outfits. I’m not a fan but I have taken on a registering and not an opinion-giving role for this post. You won’t hear anything from me. Not for now at least.
