Rare and sneaky shower habits
If all goes well, you stand under the shower every day and things you do every day quickly become habits. And habits, they can be a bit strange. On top of that, showering is usually an activity you do alone, so there are even more opportunities to let your inner freak run free. Buzzfeed has written an article with all sorts of shower habits and calls on readers to vote, which creates a damn interesting picture of people's shower habits.
Water temperature
66% of the voters (105,300 to be exact) indicates they shower under a hot shower that is not too hot: “hot-ish, but not too hot, yafeelme?”
Singing in the shower
The cliché of clichés; singing in the shower. Everyone would do it, but according to the Buzzfeed poll, that's actually not the case. 31% says no, 41% says they only sing when music is playing, and 28% voted for “always! The bathroom tiles give me the best sound.”
Where do you put your hair?
Yes, women with long hair, that long hair always falls out while showering. Moderately, fortunately, but still, you often find yourself with hair in your hands while showering, and therefore with your hands in your hair. The question is, what do you do with that hair? 20% says they are #blessed because they don't lose much hair in the shower and therefore don't have this problem. 37% says they just let it wash away (and later call a plumber), and the winner with 43% (63,500 votes) is “I decorate the walls with hair art and then throw it in the trash after.” Soooo.
Brushing teeth
I always do while showering because it saves time and I prefer to spend that time snoozing. I find that very logical, but strangely enough, the Buzzfeed readers think very differently about it. But 11% (15,600 voters) says they brush their teeth in the shower compared to 74% (109,600 voters) who say they always prefer the sink.
Um, peeing?
Men will admit this a bit more easily, but no woman will ever say she pees in the shower. So either most Buzzfeed readers are male or shower peeing is a more common habit than I thought, because 30% votes for “GROSS. NO. STOP” and 70% (102,600 people) chose “Uhmmm, there’s a drain, and soap… soooo, yeah.”
Shower time
I say every morning while snoozing to myself that I can definitely stay in bed a little longer because today I'm going to take a very short shower. That never works. Really never. All my shower sessions are pretty endless exercises because showering is quite a hobby of mine. And I'm not the only one because when asked “how long do you shower?” 59% (85,600 people) answers with “I always plan on taking five minutes but that somehow turns into 20.”
