ROTTERDAM HAS THE LARGEST

H&M opens flagship store in Rotterdam

Not everyone can maneuver the fashion top from 020 to 010, but for a VIP dinner and, to be clear, the opening of the largest H&M in Europe, we all left our offices and drove south.

Okay, being there at 5:00 PM didn’t work for us. It must have been a quarter to six when all the editors-in-chief walked into the seventh floor of the NHOW hotel checking their iPhones, but then ‘our’ ‘our’ was sought out, the phones went into the designer bags, and we didn’t talk about fashion for a moment but about each other. That a colleague (I won’t name names but she’s a sweetheart) had torn her skirt was understood by everyone. Hey, we all have a life and thus a stain, a tear, and a hole.

After the flash dinner, which was really very delicious, we drove in a convoy to the Koopgoot. A place I had never been but which had taken on mythical proportions in my mind. That was where both H&M and Monki and Weekday would open. The largest flagship store in Europe, twenty percent discount, and a drink within reach were enough ingredients for a night without end.

I think I deserve an Oscar/Nobel Prize or whatever because I managed to keep my hand on the purse strings, but I fear that I’m about to go online and go wild because I am so in love with the H&M home department.
