This is how you feel sexy in your bikini
We've been saying for months, “the bikini season is coming!” Well ladies and gentlemen, I think we can say with these temperatures that the bikini season has arrived. Since there are very few women who feel 1001% comfortable in their bikini (which is understandable, you're practically walking around naked), we’re giving you some tips & tricks in this Sexy Friday that will hopefully help you feel a bit sexy in your mix and match little outfit. I will absolutely be the last one to say that you just have to accept how your body looks. That every little dimple, bump, flap, or line “just belongs to you” and that you should embrace and love it. I personally can't do that either (hello Destination Killerbody) so I completely understand that it doesn't work that simply for you either. What does work, is making sure your body looks as good as possible.
1. Make an appointment at a hair removal salon, grit your teeth, and let them wax everything away. Legs, bikini, armpits, everything. It hurts a bit but you'll enjoy it for about six weeks and it instantly contributes to your confidence factor.
2. Once everything is hair-free, it's time for step two. Start scrubbing now, even if you don't actually need to wear a bikini for a few weeks. Scrubbing removes dead skin cells and ensures you get a super soft skin. After scrubbing, make sure to apply extra moisturizing body lotion, then a little bit of body oil (for example from The Bodyshop) and your legs will feel silky smooth and be completely free of winter scales.
3. Do you have cold water fear because you go through life with two milk bottles? Time for self-tanner. The tanning bed is lovely but so bad for you that we can't recommend it here, and besides, there are now a million super effective self-tanners. What you can also do is go to a tanning salon. They put you in a booth and spray your whole body with the bronzing stuff. And don't worry, it's done very controlled so you don't have to fear practices like those of Ross from the series Friends and his Mississippi problems. (No idea what I'm talking about? Check the link, guaranteed laughter with sound.)
4. Make sure you have a bikini that you feel good in. I personally only wear ones with strings so you can adjust them looser or tighter yourself and they don't cut into your hip fat. Bandeau bikinis are very pretty, but they make you look wider and the constant tugging to prevent a nipplegate doesn't really contribute to the comfort factor. So you’d rather choose something with a halter strap, or ‘regular’ straps.
5. Wear accessories! Who says you can only wear a bikini? Go ahead and throw on a whole bunch of pretty bracelets and nice necklaces so you really have a complete outfit. Of course, pareos are ideal for around the derriere.
Checked everything? Then you're ready for the beach! Have fun there and don't forget, no one is perfect.
