acne
The roof came off in Sweden when the cover of the very first Vogue Netherlands landed on the doormat. One of the three models on this historic cover wore a dress by Acne Studios. A bold choice since Acne wasn't that big yet. But the stylist liked the dress and that can easily get you on the cover. It seemed that Acne Studios had a bit of delusions of grandeur. Their catwalk collections were quite, eh, bombastic. Something that the fashion press couldn't really appreciate because the brand breathed that understatedness of Sweden. This collection saw designer Johnny Johansson return to the roots. Or better said ‘Till Havn’ to the sea. Lots of denim, lots of marine but everything with a twist. So white leather that was processed through laser cut, sweaters with sleeves so long that the fingers remain covered and everything covered with a wide, white and silver belt. Applause for Johnny. Acne Studios has landed again.
