Diptyque scented candles
At the time of writing, it is really pouring down here. Admittedly, I don't mind it that much, because when I'm working inside, I prefer it to rain all day long. I mean, I can't enjoy it anyway. And I find the rain quite cozy. It immediately gives me the urge to pull out warm sweaters from the closet and light some candles. The first is not necessary because it's boiling hot inside, but the second can even be done in the middle of summer. After all, a good scented candle is not bound by a deadline.
Since I have known May-Britt (and that's been quite a while), she has been addicted to the scented candles from Diptyque. I always thought that was a bit exaggerated, because she would light a candle at any moment of the day, anywhere. But since they are a bit on the expensive side, I thought that was quite a waste. But I must admit that I am now quite a fan. I once received one as a gift that I was very careful with. I would light it for 5 minutes, blow it out, and then enjoy it for an hour because the scent had spread throughout the whole room. That's actually still what I do when I manage to get such a candle. By the way, I always keep the empty Diptyque glasses, because the design is too beautiful for words and even looks nice with a tealight in it. Although that doesn't have the same effect at all.
Scented candles only for summer? No, you're mistaken. The scent Baies, for example, is really a summery scent. On days like this, it's very welcome, because then the sun and the beach are a bit with you even if you see liters of rain coming down behind you. Oh well, I'll survive that. I did say I didn't mind the rain, right?
