MISSION MODEL
I am really incredibly jealous of Doutzen's body, but I don't know if I really feel like going through the journey to get eight abs, super skinny legs, no flabs under my armpits, no chin, and no Oprah Winfrey flapping chicken breasts. It's just not sexy at all and especially very boring if you spend more time in the gym than at home, that you only drink water during dinner, always have to go to bed early, and only eat boiled carrots. Or do you? I don't know, maybe a woman compensates for it all between the sheets. Every man naturally wants such a sexy body in bed.
I thought I was doing pretty well with my three times a week sweating in the gym with a personal trainer, but I believe that's not enough. Happy girls are the prettiest, right? So what does a mini cellulite or flab matter then.
Do you still have the ambition to go for this body? Or do you, like me, at least want to know how they do it. Here are a few tips and tricks from the celebs themselves.
Hire personal trainer Dan Roberts. He trains many models a month before they have to hit the catwalk. This is his method.
Nutrition
A strict diet of a lot of protein. That means at least six eggs a day. Only the whites, not the yolks. Fiber-rich carbohydrates (oatmeal) and healthy fats (salmon) are a must. Grains, sugar, and dairy are completely eliminated.
If you hire Dan, he does the grocery shopping and cooks for you every day. He throws out muesli with low-fat yogurt and fresh fruit and makes you his ideal breakfast of eggs with spinach and almonds.
Training
The real intensive training starts three weeks before fashion week. Two times a day a different sport: athletics, yoga, pilates, kickboxing, weightlifting, and running. Often the models get homework as well. Some exercises on the ground and a small circuit they can do when they are abroad and have some time.
Full body circuit training is the best training there is. Many exercises quickly in succession. ‘This keeps them slim,’ says Dan.
Now I happen to know what such a circuit entails, ter-ri-bly intense. I was in the gym this morning waving kettlebells, hopping up and down on a step, and dancing back and forth in sweat with weights above my head. For each exercise, making as many movements as possible for a minute, that's an art.
It's pointless to skip meals, that works counterproductively. Don't go to bed too late either, that will exhaust you. Sleeping is the most important part of training. The more you sleep, the skinnier you become.
Okay, you have to adjust your entire lifestyle and find a Dan in your life, but then you will be a supermodel. At least, you have the body. Now for the head.
