4 fun hotels in Antwerp
Antwerp. I don't go there nearly enough, while you can get there by train (or car) in under two hours. It's such an incredibly fun city where you can shop immensely well, there are many good restaurants (The Jane, I really have to go to The Jane) and I find the people all sound so sweet and nice with their “wablief” and “soup with meatballs” and so on.
Are you in the mood for a weekend in Antwerp with your boyfriend or a girlfriend? Then I've already done some research on hotels. My four favorites:
This week I got to sleep in a nice together with Liesbeth. It's a small luxury boutique hotel in a cozy street around the corner from all the nice little shopping streets. Lovely carpet on the floor, a fireplace, a super sexy cocktail bar with velvet poufs and dim lighting. The rooms are all different but equally luxurious and comfortable. High large beds and bathrooms as big as a ballroom. Sometimes there's a clawfoot tub or a large rain shower with delightful products from Hermès. Breakfast in the courtyard when the weather is nice or otherwise in a warm breakfast room with an adjoining cozy kitchen. As if you are at home. It's quite an expensive hotel, so nice if you really have something to celebrate.
Another nice boutique hotel. Here you can also indulge yourself with Hermès shower gels in the bathroom. The theme of the entire hotel is black and white. Sounds uninviting, but it's actually very atmospheric. Lovely cushions on the sofa, beautiful large vases with white lilies, and thick white bathrobes await you on a crisp crackling fresh white linen duvet. You can stay for a night between 100 and 200 euros, but be sure to book well in advance, as they have five rooms, which makes it very cozy. As soon as you step out the door, you're right among nice restaurants and bars. And shopping, man, you can do that so well there.
Here is May-Britt who has been here onceand she recommends this to everyone. The location is perfect, namely in Antwerp-South. Close to the Museum of Fine Arts, very nice clothing stores, and around the corner a bar with nice healthy juices. The rooms are super large, high, and very sexy. If you're lucky, you'll get a room with a jacuzzi where you can dance in. There's also a cozy bar and a restaurant, so you actually don't have to leave the hotel. Well, only to shop then, right.
This hotel is actually perfect. Super affordable, with a good location, clean rooms, delicious (Auping) beds, and friendly service. The hotel is full of design and there is nice art on the walls. In the morning, you get a simple but really good breakfast buffet, and as soon as you step out the door, you're right in Nationalestraat. And there you can shop really well.
