The beauty things you don't do.

But really should do.

Everyone has of course their own beauty ritual whether it's long or short. Refinery 29 listed some points that are quite handy to apply in that whole ritual. They either give a prettier result or make things go just a bit faster. It's really not that crazy to do, and there's always room for some improvement, right? Especially if it's tips from the pros, from whom we gladly accept beauty tips. And that's why I'm sharing them with you.

Oil in your day cream

We actually already knew that oil is quite good for your skin. Especially in winter. Now, not everyone is a fan of the stuff, but it hydrates the skin much better than a daily cream. Therefore, it's best to mix a drop of the oil into your day cream, so your skin gets the perfect nourishment without an oily result.

Hair mask

Many people find hair masks a hassle, but for the ladies among us who sometimes dye their hair; it's a must. Your hair becomes extremely dry from all those ingredients, and a mask ensures that the color shines even more and you can enjoy the result longer. It's really not that crazy.

Shiny eyelids

If you're not a fan of eyeshadow but want some shine, just use a balm on your eyes. It works nourishing, is not sticky, and is very shiny. It also looks just a bit nicer in photos.

Transparent powder

Transparent powders work very differently in winter than in summer. The skin is just totally different. So you need to pay attention to that when applying makeup because it can give a bit of a dusty ‘effect’. Moreover, your skin is already a bit drier in winter, so you actually don't need that much powder. What you can do is wear it on your lashes. A bit on the tips of your lashes I mean. It gives a lengthening and thickening effect to your lashes. Just between the layers of your mascara, otherwise, you'll still get the snow effect.

Concealer tijd

Concealer is not just for brightening the circles under your eyes or covering blemishes. You can actually use concealer for many things. For example, as a primer on your lips, which makes your lipstick stay on much better. Or just under your eyebrows to accentuate the shape of your brows. Or use it on the waterline of your eye and in the corners, then your eyes look much bigger and wider. So it's actually a kind of styling tool.

The multifunctional straightener

Don't be too casual with your straightener. Some people use that thing at lightning speed through their hair. The result is that it's straight, but there's totally no volume left. Make sure to give the ends of your hair a little ‘swirl’ and hold your hair up at the roots. This way, you maintain the bounce and volume. The perfect recipe for a woke-up-like-this hairstyle.

Use your fingers

Of course, soft colors of eyeshadow brushes a lot for your makeup, but don't be afraid to use your fingers as well. This way, you really get the best result. Applying your lipstick, for example, is much more natural, and you won't get such a harsh line this way. You also don't have to struggle with your cupid's bow.

Kijk naar beneden

Recognizable that mascara is everywhere where it wasn't intended? So all those spots on your eyelids? Look down. Then you get both the prettiest curl and spots are a thing of the past.

Forgot foundation?

Are you traveling or on the go and you forgot your foundation foundation? No worries. You mix a bit of concealer with a serum or balm, and you can still use it on your face. Just use your fingers to apply it, because then you can directly apply it to the spots where you think you need it. It looks lighter and fresher than if you only used the concealer.
