THIS IS HOW TRAVELING BECOMES EVEN MORE FUN

You have those people who start packing their suitcase an hour before they go on vacation . They determine the route from home to the airport while brushing their teeth, and during the train ride to the airport, they check again where their hotel is located. Relaxed travelers, so I am clearly not one of them.. Even if I'm only going.

for 48 hours abroad , the preparations start about a week in advance. Not only do I plan with military precision what clothes and shoes I need to take, but I also neatly lay out my beauty products a few days in advance, and where necessary, I buy, mini bottles to transfer everything. The ticket is printed in my passport, the time it takes from home to Schiphol I have checked to exhaustion with ten different apps, and in the end, I still find myself half an hour early on the platform and then an hour early at the gate. Maybe it's because of this somewhat neurotic behavior that I love all kinds of travel tips. Those handy ideas that make traveling a lot more pleasant. Since I'm not the meanest, I'm sharing a few of those life savers with you today, so grab a pen and paper, here we go. Book with an incognito window.

All those nice cookies that you have to accept all the time ensure that they know everything about you. If you've been looking at a certain ticket site ten times a week, that site 'knows' that you want a ticket, and the eleventh time you come, they just raise the prices. That's why ticket prices often fluctuate so much.

Bring a glasses case.

Not only to store your sunglasses, but also ideal for loose iPhone cords and earbuds.

Stinky suitcase.

It can happen, you've packed and unpacked that thing a hundred thousand times and maybe sometimes even left a sweaty summer dress in it. You can get those sheets at the drugstore that you put in the dryer and that spread a nice scent; if you place those at the bottom of your suitcase, you'll never have a problem again.

Earrings and bracelets tend to get hopelessly tangled together. Buy a pillbox, you know, one of those things with all different compartments, and put your small jewelry in there. No more hassle.

Jewelry

Scan scan scan.

Especially if you're going to Faraway Places, it's damn annoying if you suddenly find yourself with a stolen passport. Therefore, always scan all your important documents and save them in your mailbox or Dropbox. Driver's license, ticket, hotel confirmations, insurance documents, passport, everything.

Shower cap.

The most uncharming thing ever is a damn handy thing when it comes to packing suitcases. Just put one of those caps around your shoes, and the soles of your shoes won't stain the rest of your clothes.

Always handy, but I ALWAYS lose those things. Buy a Tic Tac box, eat it empty or throw them away, and in that empty box, you can put your hairpins. Handy!.

Bobby pins

Using ATMs

Don't use those Traveltex currency exchange machines because they often charge a hefty exchange rate. You're better off at a regular ATM, which is often right next to it.

Bon voyage!
