Almost always I order a green smoothie when it's on the menu. It has to be freshly made, of course.
Yesterday I spent half my day on the terrace of Bar Spek. One of my favorite places in Amsterdam. I worked there briefly (then suddenly the Amayzine adventure came my way) and my dear friend Merel is serving, so it feels like a living room. This Green Monster smoothie is going in my recipe book. Delicious.
What's in it and how do I make it
- Half a cucumber
- 1 Granny Smith
- Half an avocado
- Handful of spinach
- Handful of basil
- Teaspoon of spirulina (packed with protein and gives you energy)
Put the cucumber and apple through a juicer. Pour the juice into the blender along with the other ingredients and blend away.
A perfect kickstart to your Monday, I thought.
