The fact that we have a severe Instagram addiction is something we have never hidden. If you are the type who is still deep in denial, it’s time to wake up. Here are the signs that you are just as addicted as we are.
After the snooze button, the Instagram icon is the first thing you press in the morning.
And before you go to sleep, you first check Instagram. Then Facebook. And then you check Insta one more time to see if you missed anything in those 10 minutes on Facebook.
If you haven’t posted anything on Instagram for a day, you start itching and scroll through ALL your photos on your phone hoping to find something Instagram-worthy. Memory Monday, Throwback Thursday, Flashback Friday, you’ll come up with an excuse.
You already know in advance whether a situation will be good for Instagram. Hip party coming up? I’m SO gonna Instagram that.
In fact, you adjust your plans accordingly. Not really in the mood to go out for lunch and would rather stay home? A photo of that one trendy spot is going to get a shitload of likes. So off you go.
You always eat lukewarm food because it takes forever to get a good food pic.
When you buy new shoes, you mentally plan the perfect #newin photo.
You can spend hours, HOURS trying to take the perfect photo.
You prefer to be with friends who are also on Instagram and understand the importance of a good photo. With friends who don’t have Instagram, you always feel somewhat awkward about being so terribly vain. In their eyes.
You save photos in a special stash folder for moments when you have nothing to Instagram.
The first few minutes after you post a photo are crucial. If the photo isn’t getting enough attention quickly enough, you consider taking it down immediately.
You know exactly how many followers you have and check every day who has unfollowed you with an unfollow app.
Timing is everything; you will never post a photo after midnight.
