3 X skinny juices
I assume everyone has a balance day once in a while. I understand that you want to take it a bit easier after you've had a four-course dinner or a night of partying. That doesn't mean you can eat very little that day, but it's more about the choices you make. Opt for delicious salads with lots of vegetables instead of a croque madame (which is delicious by the way) and make a hearty soup with lentils in the evening instead of a lasagna. But make sure to eat enough, because your body will still ask for more afterwards and then you might go overboard again. Just skip some heavy foods (and desserts) from your diet for that day and you'll be back in balance.
These are my 3 favorite smoothies for a day when you want to take it a bit easier.
Note: the quantities are not very precise, because you really just have to figure out what you like best. With more pineapple it becomes sweeter, with more kale it gets a bit spicier. If you want a thicker smoothie, then don't add too much liquid. Do you understand?
Greennnn
- Half a banana,
- A handful of kale
- A few pieces of pineapple
- 2 generous splashes of coconut water
- A bit of lemon juice
- Scoop of spirulina (only if you have it at home)
Detox Pink
- Frozen red fruits (you can find these in the freezer section of any supermarket)
- A glass of (preferably) unsweetened almond milk
- tablespoon of chia seeds (let these soak for a moment in the blender in the almond milk)
- tablespoon of goji berries
The Killer
- 2 large cooked beets (these are always in the refrigerated section of the supermarket). I would keep the other beets you don't use in a Tupperware container. Otherwise, you'll smell the beet odor very strongly when you open your fridge door.
- Juice from 3 carrots (you can juice this yourself with a juicer or alternatively buy a bottle of organic carrot juice at the eco store)
- A few pieces of pineapple
- A bit of lemon juice
- For the real die-hards, you can add a handful of spinach.
