5 IT BAGS

that you must, will, and want

This weekend I was out with cool Instagirls Anna Nooshin and Yara Michels. The conversation revolved around entrepreneurship and our crazy profession (Anna: “I often wonder what I am actually doing when I am posing somewhere”) and which bag makes us restless for this winter. We came up with the following list of bags that will surely look great on you too. Ready for a month of eating dry bread, ladies?

1. Miu Miu

In the past, long ago, Miu Miu bags were still reasonably affordable and this was really the more approachable sister of the big Prada. Unfortunately, that was once and now you also have to pay half a month's salary for a bit of Miu Miu. My tip: squint your eyes and swipe that card up and down. You can do it.

2. Valentino

The overdose of studs is really on its way out now, but Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri still like to refer to what is so characteristic of Valentino; the funky stud. They come in stripes of colors (also a great street style item), but the black one can of course last for years. And you probably want that.

3. Louis Vuitton

These small suitcase bags refer to the origin of the house of Louis Vuitton, when the old Mr. Vuitton was still the personal packer of Napoleon's wife. To transport her couture and hoop skirts as well as possible, he built his own suitcases. You should especially think of movable wardrobes. These small trunks hold little more than your mobile, a small black card, and a lipstick, but hey, what more does a girl need?

4. Saint Laurent

Since Hedi Slimane waved his magic wand, Saint Laurent has been the hottest fashion house and everyone wants to have everything. Especially accessories are favorites (and still somewhat affordable). All the fashion girls in my circle are in love with the envelope bag with the old-fashioned YSL label.

5. Tod’s

Almost every year my mother receives a Tod’s bag from my beloved. As a thank you for taking care of the girls and for ironing his shirts. This year I will gently point him towards the Little Cape Bag because I think it's cool. Then maybe I can borrow it from time to time.
