6 NEW WORDS

We have the Van Dale, the English have the Oxford Dictionary. And just like the people from Van Dale were not too lame to include the word ‘swaffelen’ in their official dictionary, the English have also added some hipster language to the royal dictionary. Especially ‘wine o'clock’ is going to be my new catchphrase, you get that.

Hangry

So hungry you get angry. I don't need to explain further.

Fur baby

The new word to refer to someone's little dog or cat. Or the fresh editorial piglet for example.

Brain fart

The brain fart is the new brain dead, in other words; this means you are experiencing a temporary blackout in your head. A little brain fart, sounds quite cozy actually.

Awesomesauce

This is the adjective you use when you find something totally super. What an awesomesauce dress. I still need to practice the pronunciation, but luckily I can get extra lessons from our new translator Elke.

Snackable

That's everything you can easily and lightly take in. A snackable movie for example.

Wijn tijd

It is such that the five must be on the clock before you can put a glass on the table. If it's wine o'clock, it's good. And it's always wine o'clock somewhere in the world. By the way, there is also a beer o'clock, but we'll skip that for now.
