7 REASONS WHY JOSS IS CRAZY ABOUT ELLIE GOULDING

Last week I was I noticed again how friendly everyone is there. Taxi drivers, customs officers; they all ended their sentences with 'ma'am' or even better: 'My love'. Bitter people among us immediately say: they don't really mean it. I actually don't care, it just sounds nice and brightens up your day. Funny enough, the top 3 is dominated by British Commonwealth countries. That can't be a coincidence. and as you know I had a crazy busy but way too fun schedule where I had to run and roll from one appointment to another. Saturday was completely dedicated to Ellie Goulding with an interview, a private dinner, and an intimate concert as a treat. That caused quite a bit of research stress and outfit panic, you should know.

Before I went to London, I really delved into her life because to be honest, not many bells were ringing at her name. Yes, I just lived on a planet for three years because after some YouTube watching, I definitely knew who she was. In itself, Lights and Burn were songs I could sing along to, but I just didn't know that the label interview Ellie Goulding was attached to them. But anyway. Last weekend then. Where I was initially a silent fan, I have now turned into a shameless groupie. And here's why.

Sing, song, atmosphere
Okay, I'll start with the fact that it's all about for her. She can just sing extraordinarily well. First of all, she writes almost all the songs herself, for which I already give her the first compliment, but besides that, she can also deliver those songs flawlessly and smoothly with the necessary high notes. Now that's not so difficult on the radio, but live I find it a whole different story. She just did it, without any effort at all. It's just that you can't snoop on my phone, but I made a hundred videos and after watching them thirty times, I still can't spot a mistake.

Impressive
Yes, she is. I got to interview her for fifteen minutes and it's still impressive that I managed to get a question out of my mouth because I was actually just staring intensely. Now her makeup was done by the best makeup artist from M.A.C Cosmetics, but I think she would look stunning even without a lick of foundation.

Best of both worlds
I always find it a bit peculiar when someone has two sides. Peculiar actually means terrifying because then such a person is very unpredictable. But with Ellie, I don't have that. During the interview and dinner (private, did I mention that?), she was an incredibly sweet girl who was very interested in everything and everyone. In the evening, she was rocking and rolling as an energetic stage beast. Oh, and during that dinner, she also took the floor to thank us for coming and that she had such a lovely day. I had never experienced an artist thanking us before, and that certainly wasn't necessary, but I thought it was cool. And with that, she climbed three spots in the ranking. By now, she was in 6th place out of 10 in the ranking; cool-fun-pretty.

Energy
Ellie got up that day, gave interviews for 7 hours straight, made videos, laughed at us press people, and dutifully answered every question. Then she showed up at dinner in her prettiest outfit. And then she stood on stage for an hour and a half playing and singing the most beautiful songs. I find that impressive. An energy level to the moon.

Jack of all trades
Together with Sigrid from Metro and Diederik from M.A.C Cosmetics, I stared at the stage for an hour and a half because we found everything impressive about Ellie. She was actually already perfect and it couldn't get more perfect, but then when she also played a song on the guitar and started drumming with some sticks, Sigrid and I looked at each other questioningly: “How?? How is that possible?”.

Extremely friendly
Seems like a clear story to me. No star attitudes, no drama queen wanting a dressing room with twenty Evian bottles, thirty-three cut-up Twix bars, and fifteen half peaches, but just a really fun girl who is one of the guys.

Makeup line with M.A.C Cosmetics
Oh, and as if she doesn't have enough to do, she has designed a makeup line together with M.A.C Cosmetics. It will be released next year, so until then my lips are sealed, but I can whisper to you that it’s really beautiful and that you will want to have everything. For me as a makeup lover , it’s an amazing collection that only enhances that vibe.

So if I add everything up, she has easily gathered those ten points. And she has gained a groupie and a friend, because I also love makeup, I love singing (terribly off-key, but there has to be a difference), and I also love chatting for a long time. So Ellie, when will we see each other again? I can't wait.
