THIS IS HOW YOU BEHAVE BACKSTAGE

– the five lessons I give you –

Last weekend I was in London to make some backstage visits to the shows. Now you should know that backstage is always extremely chaotic and stressful because the girls need to be ready within a few hours before they step onto the runway. Just imagine a hundred people there with makeup artists, hair gurus, models, runway coaches, dressers, and who knows what else. So if you walk around there as a curious little person without any role that contributes to the show, you really need to know your place. The rules that, I already knew, but have certainly been confirmed to me backstage. I Look, almost everyone who is there actually means something. Now they all find themselves.

really incredibly important and it’s a bit more relaxed in London, but everyone who is backstage really has a role. Even if it’s just the assistant of the assistant of the makeup artist, they all have something to do. Now I understand that it’s all very exciting when you’re backstage and that you do have a role, even if it’s taking photos or conducting interviews, but you’re not contributing to the final show. So don’t pretend, because it won’t be appreciated. New York When you’re backstage you want to ask everyone hundreds of questions. About the look to the makeup artist, preferably to the designer about the collection, and actually also some things to the models. Just keep in mind that everyone is really super busy and focused.

They will talk lovingly about the look, but then they just want to move on. So don’t burden them with personal beauty questions because no one is really waiting for that. Except for you, of course. But just keep that to yourself. Make-up artists Backstage means stress and with stress, things can sometimes go wrong. So a can of hairspray falls on the floor, a brush gets stuck in the hair, or something is lost again. Now it’s really sweet if you want to help, but you’re actually just getting in the way. So don’t pick anything up, just be the wallflower that quietly observes.

I understand that what is laid out backstage is quite tempting. Think of the entire M.A.C collection, think of hundreds of hairsprays, think of the most amazing shoes. Oh, and then I forget.

THE COLLECTION . But stay away from that. I get that you want to feel and smell everything, but it’s just not for you. It still has to go down the catwalk. So stay away from other people’s stuff, but I think that’s a general life lesson.. I don’t usually think of myself as incredibly bold, but backstage you can be.

a little bold. Now it seems like I’m contradicting all the points above, but keep these in mind. By bold, I mean that you don’t always have to be the wallflower. It’s always said that you have to leave the space, but that doesn’t mean you really have to go right away. Just look for a corner, hide yourself, and pop back up after five minutes. And if the models are rehearsing? Then just walk boldly behind them. But be careful, being bold can also go well with the four points above.
