A pinch of tea with BVLGARI

We take a little leap back in time, back to the nineties. 1992 was an important year for tea AND for fragrances. A lot was discovered and something had to be done with it. Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena introduced Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert inspired by tea and with green tea as an ingredient of course.

BVLGARI was way ahead of its time and it was also incredibly exciting to launch those fragrances. But after such a success as the first, several more had to follow, because there was still some tea to go. And those fragrances were created by different noses. Jacques Cavallier signed for Eau Parfumée au Thé Blanc, Olivier Polge for Eau Parfumée au Thé Rouge and Daniela Andrier for the newest gem in the collection: Eau Parfumée au Thé Bleu.

Last week the fragrances were reintroduced and the newest ones presented. The fragrances were not very well understood by the general public around 1992 but I believe the time is now ripe to give those fragrances a new look. Because tea is still incredibly trendy, gives a sense of calm and is a nod to the Japanese tea ceremony. That I went to the launch was of course a logical step. Hello, fragrances are my favorite: give me a pot of tea and I am happy and need nothing else. The launch was at the ‘Four Leaves Boutique aux Thés;’ a boutique where you can taste, smell and thus experience real tea. The fragrances were presented and the master of tea had selected different types of tea to make the experience complete.

So there are four types in the family of L’Esprit du Thé. Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert is quite innovative in the world of classic cologne. It is very light due to the citrus fruits and of course with a hint of green tea. You can imagine that the combination of citrus and green tea creates a refreshing and pure scent that is very fresh, and since green tea is a huge wellness trend that stands for calm and neutrality, you understand the combination even more.
