“Have you heard the news?” This question buzzes from the schoolyard to the editorial office to me. And immediately I know what it’s about. About Yfke Sturm. Our Yfke. Because Dutch pride with an unprecedented modeling career.

Yfke who worked with Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, David LaChapelle, Bruce Weber, Peter Lindbergh and many, many more. Our Yfke who first presented Holland’s Next Top Model. Our Yfke who still guides the winners of Holland’s Next Top Model like last year Nicky whom she invited to her five-story London apartment. Our Yfke who wrote the book Yfke’s Model Secrets. Our Yfke who dedicated herself to the Red Cross. Our Yfke the businesswoman who started her own agency with her then-husband and now works with Freek Koster on The Model House which will be launched in a few weeks. Our Yfke who became a mother on July 24 and had a son. Our Yfke whose name means ‘eternity’.

Dear Yfke, I really hope you live up to your name and stay with us forever, or at least for a long time. For your husband, for your newborn son, and for yourself.
