Another fresh diary from Carolien. All the way from the other side of the world. Note: becoming jealous after reading this post is possible.
Now that I've just gotten used to the LA lifestyle, I'm already boarding a plane to South Korea for a shoot with JAN magazine. After a 13-hour flight, I arrive at the Banyan Tree Resort in Seoul with a ‘swimming pool’ (read: giant heated bath) in the middle of my room, a view over the entire city, and curtains that open and close automatically, sigh... Before I know it, I'm back at the airport heading to LA after 3 days, only to be teased by a GIGA Chanel store in my terminal! At a very high pace, I walk past the store: one sweet day…
Once I arrive in LA, my husband is waiting with a roaring engine to race off to… Las Vegas! We arrive in the evening ’primetime‘ to spot all the bizarre characters: this is literally Disneyland for adults. Together with Carice and Kees, we checked off the entire Vegas tourist list, which of course included a bit of gambling. But after the first win, we ended up completely in the minus… Glad we were only there for 2 days.
Besides my friends and family, I unfortunately also miss all the good sample sales in the Netherlands! Yesterday I received an invite for one of my favorites: New Market sale. Now that I'm not there, I want to share this ‘secret’ with you: so you can score all the bargains.
One of my favorite streets in LA is Abbot Kinney. Lovely boutiques, ultra-healthy eateries (@Jet: I have some new juice recipes for you!) and trendy LA-ers are the perfect ingredients to wander around here for hours.
I stumbled upon the pop-up store of Vipe Sportswear by the Dutch Marlies Korijn. The fabrics are ultra-light and super comfy. I immediately fell in love with this soft pink set: now just need to find a good Pilates studio in our neighborhood.
5. I can hardly restrain myself with all these beautiful stores here! Just when I had decided not to buy anything after my Victoria’s Secret shopping spree, these jewels came my way. Believe me, I would be a thief of my own wallet if I left these Bally pumps behind! From $825 now for $125, that’s $700 profit! I know, this is pure female logic, but it works for me.
