Everything has revolved around Sneek in recent weeks for our Carolien. But don’t think she hasn’t had time for her husband… Want to read along?

By now, I can hardly remember what Jon looks like after all those weeks almost full-time in Sneek… Yesterday, we finally had some time to explore the city. And when we passed this lovely little lunch spot, I had the car stop with screeching tires. They sold the most delicious products like ghee butter (really a must-try!), raspberry balsamic vinegar, and special salt from Ibiza in colorful jars. When I got my smoothie served in this lovely mason jar, I was sold: this will be my new living room for the coming month. Maybe I should ask Jon to drive back and forth for such a delicious juice?

We’re not even halfway through, and the first images from Sneekweek are already online. Normally, I do watch the footage back on set, but due to the hectic pace, there’s hardly any time for that. These photos are therefore the first images I see again, and they look amazing! But also a bit scary, so that thriller aspect will be just fine.

Once every four weeks, I dutifully go to Delete for a Brazilian wax, and believe me, it took me quite some time to get to this point.

I was terrified to step inside, lie down with my legs wide apart, and endure the extreme pain. That wide-legged position still feels a bit awkward, but the thought that these ‘Wax Angels’ (that’s what they’re called) do nothing else all day puts me at ease. And the pain is actually quite manageable: it’s not exactly a pleasant feeling, but gradually the hairs become easier to remove. Now I never dare to shave in between because the result is really less pretty. With the ladies from Sneekweek, we all went together before the filming period so we can appear bikini-proof on set for a month!

‘Filming is waiting,’ is often said… And the dangerous thing about that waiting is that you start browsing the internet out of boredom. Now, for me, browsing the internet is roughly equivalent to online shopping, so you can imagine how dangerous that waiting is in my case! That’s how I discovered this new Scandinavian brand Six Ames, and I went completely crazy: very beautiful items and super affordable! That just happens to be the perfect combination. So before I knew it, my digital shopping cart was overflowing with new winter items. Here you go: my first outfits for the upcoming season are already in the pocket! And as you can see in the background, that was really necessary because I have absolutely nothing hanging ;).

Twice a year, there’s a date marked with big red circles in my calendar. I can’t sleep, feel like it’s almost my birthday, and in the morning I can’t swallow a bite. That’s the day the sample sale of Avelon takes place! Together with Marly, we drove with a pounding heart to the new location: dreading all the cool items AND our wallets.

The damage was indeed considerable: two bags full of items that still make my heart race at the thought of them!

Are people already calling me crazy? Believe me, once you’ve seen these sets, you’ll be just as greedy as I am. My biggest find is the python leather shorts from the special collection: I should actually frame them. Okay Carolien, now you’re going too far…
