This time Carolien is reporting live from the USA, because her fiancé Jon wants to conquer the world there.
Next week it’s happening: the premiere of the new series ‘Zwarte Tulp’ for Videoland. I’m so curious to see what everyone will think of it! It was a party to be able to play a scene with Roeland Fernhout. This poster already gives a very good impression of my character…
In last week’s Viva you could read my interview about ‘Zwarte Tulp’. Those panther slippers (minus the socks: that ‘fashion statement’ I still find difficult…) are on my list for this summer. The theme of the photoshoot was ‘origami’: a big ’thumbs up’ for the intern who had stuck all the post-its in the background!
I’ve only been in the USA for a few days and I’m already traveling from highlight to highlight… But I think this one won’t be surpassed. Jon and I were lucky enough to attend the premiere of ‘Game of Thrones’ season 5. My gala dress from Dorhout Mees by Shoeby had been ready in the cover for this special evening for a week. The beautiful Opera House in San Francisco was transformed into a cinema hall and afterwards we celebrated this grand event with the cast and crew in the City Hall. Carice and Kees were absolutely the best dressed couple of the evening!
Whether it’s in H&M or in a nice boutique, when I pick something out, I have the gift of always choosing the most expensive item. So when I proudly told Jon that I had found the perfect rooftop swimming pool in LA, he held his heart… and rightly so. This very exclusive spot (SLS hotel) was only for hotel guests and a beer quickly cost a day’s salary. But with a bit of bluffing (‘Yes, of course we’re staying in the hotel’) and only using the free ’tap water’, we were able to enjoy a few hours of the Californian sun in a very royal way…
I am so happy with summer temperatures… One of the nicest things about my LA trip was packing my new spring/summer items from this season that I can finally wear! I had already completely planned my outfit for the first evening: my suit from Moves by Minimum, suede shoes from Dante6, and a peach biker jacket from every.day.counts.
