Yes, another fresh weekly diary from our Carolien. Because you know: she never sits still.

In the meantime, we are already so busy with the recordings of the Zwarte Tulp that I almost forgot about Sneekweek! But when we had the photoshoot for the poster yesterday, it immediately felt like a close-knit group again. Kimberley had brought a bottle of bubbles, so the atmosphere was already great. Actually, we should go to Sneekweek ourselves with this group next year! I'm so curious about how the film turned out: from January 18 it will be in theaters and in two weeks the trailer will be released. But soon we will have a viewing of the final result with the whole cast. I hope I dare to keep my eyes open the whole time... Even though I already know how it ends!

On my phone, I keep a list of all the restaurants in Amsterdam that I still want to visit, and that list has become quite long. But last week we were lucky enough to cross one off: Jackson Dubois at the Spui. During the day better known as the Esprit Café, where I used to go with my mother for a sandwich when we had a day in Amsterdam, but from 6 PM this place transforms into a trendy bar with a menu full of “street food”. From small burgers to falafel and Indonesian snacks, all under 7 euros. Jon and I always like to share our dishes so we can taste more flavors. So now we could taste almost the entire menu together, what a treat! My favorite is the ultimate American dessert, including cotton candy, donut, and mini-Magnum.

Every year I celebrate my godfather's birthday with an extensive high tea in Amsterdam. Our regular spot has become the Amstel Hotel, known for its sandwiches served in hollowed-out bread and the unbeatable scones. But I can say that we have discovered a new favorite place. The Waldorf Hotel serves a fantastic platter of snacks, from which you can taste that they are prepared with love and care. The dishes are also of a slightly higher culinary level, such as the focaccia with smoked salmon and lime cream or the scones with ginger. The live pianist completed the setting. A big downside: you can't leave any snack behind, so I had to lie on the couch for the rest of the day to recover...

Now that it is getting colder outside, I notice that my skin is screaming for some extra attention. I usually end the winter with rough patches on my face and arms, but this year I am going to try to prevent that! So I have already bought a nice oil for my skin, so my face couldn't be left behind. For a week now, I have been applying this nice product from La Mer to my face twice a day, and so far so good! Especially after a long shooting day when that makeup has settled in nicely, I make sure to slather this oil on thick. I'm curious if I can get through the whole winter with this bottle; then I will have finally discovered my miracle cure!

Marly and I always travel to France once a year to stock up during the sale at Sandro. Literally all their designs are beautiful, but they are most known for their perfectly shaped dresses. When I found the invite for their store opening in Amsterdam in my mailbox, I did a little happy dance. Marly and I immediately blocked this evening in our calendars so we could be the first to admire the new collection. These outfits have been scored, but I absolutely cannot promise that this will be the end of it... Oh dear Santa, do you ever shop in the PC Hooftstraat?! I'll send you an address...
