lipstick and champagne
When an invitation from Chanel arrives at Amayzine, our hearts always skip a little beat. This time we were allowed to come and view and try out the new colors from the Rouge Coco lipstick collection, and you can take our word for it that this is a very nice way to spend a Wednesday afternoon. Chanel does everything without exceptionin the Chanel way and that means being immersed in pampering and beauty.
With a glass of champagne in hand, we were seated in a makeup artist's chair and everything was explained to us about the new spring colors of Rouge Coco. A total of 24 pieces, each named after an important person in Coco Chanel's life. Good friends, lovers, and muses. For example, there is the rose tint ‘Edith’, named after her jewelry designer Edith de Beaumont, and the nude color ‘Jeanne’ named after Coco's mother.
Meanwhile, the Chanel professional makeup artist provided us with a touch-up and our lips were colored in the new summer shade that flattered us the most. So afterwards, you walk out the door on cloud nine (maybe also a bit because of the champagne) and start to understand why lipstick was the favorite beauty accessory of mademoiselle Chanel. Wearing lipstick is like wearing high heels. The first steps can be a bit intimidating, but they are steps towards a feeling of pure femininity.
