cleaning your face, every day
Almost everyone here at the editorial office faithfully cleans their face every evening. Jet even gets up for it if she accidentally ends up in bed without scrubbing. So I only use a cotton pad on my keum (that's Amayzine's for ’head‘) in case of high exceptions at night because I find it all just way too much trouble.
Viral articles with titles like “THIS is what happens when you do NOT clean your face at night” I expertly skip, I keep my ears closed to stories about clogged pores and I don't want to know anything about the dull skin you would get from that. Not to mention how disgusting it is for your pillow.
Almost every evening I think, “now I'm too tired. But starting tomorrow, tomorrow, I will really always go to bed with a clean keumpje.” And then it's tomorrow and of course the exact same scene plays out. Somehow I just find it too much trouble and hassle every time.
However, the next morning I always regret it. Then my eyelashes are stuck together and my eyebrows are a mess and I feel dirty. When I was in New York, I showered, brushed, and applied every evening because the city is so filthy and it really doesn't feel good to just lie down in bed. And I swear to you, after those 5 days my skin was significantly better and softer.
So I'm going to do that here too. Recently I ordered a whole collection of new Estée Lauder products (my absolute favorite brand) so that can't be the problem. Tonight is the kickoff, and I have to stick with it for at least a month. After that month, we'll see if things have improved. Deal? Deal. Wish me luck.
