That you can both have a very different kind of love for beauty is proven by opposites and Amayzine’s beauty editors Coco & Josselin. While one screams ‘full and striking’, the other says ‘subtle and small’. This time they battle over bright colors vs nude. Bring it on, girls!
Coco: “I find lips the most beautiful and sensual part of a woman. Not only because of the possible thickness and shape, but also because of how women handle them. Look, the film it may have been cringeworthy, but what have we learned from Anastasia Steele? Exactly, that biting your lip can be very sexy. Lips are meant to be shown, so let's especially showcase them with bright colors. Most well-colored lipsticks do require a base of lip balm, given their high drying content.’’
Josselin: “I agree with Coco: lips are incredibly beautiful and should definitely be seen. But does that have to be with a screaming color that evokes disgust and goes a bit overboard? No. I can imagine that I would be more distracted if I were having a serious conversation with someone. I prefer nude colors that give a caring balm effect with a natural tint, which always gives a good effect. Much prettier and much more appropriate.’’
Coco's three favorites:
- This matte rose color Silly from M.A.C, €19,-, is nice and bright. Are you going for striking and Barbie? Then this one is for you.
- Also a matte, this time from the 227 Hype from L’Oréal, €14.99. By the way, this one should not be missing from your King's Day outfit, you know that.
- Wow, this shiny red 999 Rouge Brillant from Dior, €34.90, is a-ma-zing. The gloss has a ‘plumping’ effect which in simple terms means your lips become twice as big. Duh, we want that.
Josselin's three favorites:
- This one from Clinique really has the perfect nude rose color. It has a tiny glitter that is not too overpowering, but just gives that little extra. Moreover, it is long-lasting, so you don't have to touch it up all day.
- Will you…? Long Lasting Lipstick, €19, Clinique
- God, this lipstick is almost edible, it's so nice. It has a very natural tint that blends beautifully on the lips. Pure Colour Envy, color 220 Suggestive, €32, Estée Lauder
- This color is instant summer. Now I am still a walking milk bottle so the color turned out a bit orange, but in two weeks – after my vacation – I will be nicely tanned and it will surely look great. Sheer lip color, color 19 summer nude, €25, Bobbi Brown
