Jet & Lies 24 hours in London
At the invitation of UPR and UGG Australia, Jet and I flew across the pond on Tuesday afternoon on our way to London. UGG had arranged two stunning white Vespas, and we were allowed to zip through the city on our way to all our favorite spots in London, and look, that seemed incredibly cool to us. But to be honest, we were a bit nervous.
Because Jet is an experienced scooter rider, I have never driven a scooter in my life and actually find those things quite scary. Riding on the back is no problem, but at the handlebars? No, I'd rather not. But thank goodness there was an email from UPR stating that the scooters would come with a driver, and the relief was great. Moreover, we do know London a little bit, but not well enough to crisscross the entire city on the left side (!) of the road.
Anyway, after an extremely short flight, we arrived at City Airport where a gentleman was waiting for us and smoothly drove us into the center of London, to the ME Hotel. And that was quite the party. I rarely saw such large rooms in a city like London, and everything was so beautiful and luxurious, we never wanted to leave. On the bed was a bag containing two pairs of UGGs, which were particularly welcome with the cold autumn and winter ahead. After we thoroughly admired and touched the room, we went downstairs, as our drivers were already ready.
John and Andre were prepared for everything in their flashy rain suits and were ready to whisk us around everywhere. We started in Shoreditch, Jet's favorite neighborhood and actually mine too. Along The Hoxton Hotel, Soho House, and numerous small lovely boutiques and streets. By the way, we made a video of this adventure, so you'll see it in all its glory soon.
One of the stops was at Joe & The Juices, and ladies and gentlemen, go there. You know, the green juices are not for me, but the men who make those juices. Yes please. All handsome. Wherever you go.
That evening we dined at restaurant STK, which was very conveniently located in our hotel. The food was unbelievably delicious and the place itself looked amazing. Both Jet and I were still quite jet-lagged from NY, so at 9:00 PM we were dead tired and just wanted to go to bed, only to be wide awake in bed at 12:00 AM.
After an hour of tossing and turning, we decided to call room service for a pot of hot tea. Because that helps. Well, indeed, after an hour of drinking tea, our eyelids became heavier and around 1:30 AM we finally fell asleep.
The next morning started with my favorite breakfast (salmon + egg + avocado), and Jet had of course already been sweating in the gym for an hour while I turned over one more time. We took a short walk around our hotel but actually had to head to City Airport fairly quickly, where a small plane would take us back. It was short but powerful. Thank you UGG for this lovely trip, and also on behalf of our warm feet.
