Distraction

The art of a detox is mainly to keep doing things, I think. If you just sit around doing nothing or take a few days off, you become incredibly sluggish, you think about it way too much, and it just takes longer. So just keep working and keep meeting up with friends. Indeed, it’s a bit tough when the other person has a delicious plate of spaghetti in front of them, but that just requires a bit of discipline.

The first step is taken

Yesterday went fine. Just when I started to feel a bit hungry, it was already time for a new bottle of juice. That four-hour mark is really a killer, water with lemon and ginger tea always helps, but man, I really craved a rice cake with avocado and salmon. Of course, I won’t let that get to me, and I know that feeling only lasts a short while. Furthermore, I got an incredible pimple on my chin, and I want to get rid of it as soon as possible. Such a detox should help with that, of course.

In fire and flames

The bottle labeled Dutch Spice seemed delicious to me because it contains pineapple, orange, grapefruit, carrot, turmeric, goji berries, and cayenne pepper. But after my first sip, I almost spat it out because of its spiciness. My whole mouth was seriously on fire. The bottle went around the editorial team because I wanted everyone to experience this feeling (muahaha). And yes, everyone started sweating. I still drank it obediently, of course, with tiny sips.

When I picked up my fresh bottles this morning, I was told that they had gone a bit overboard with the cayenne pepper. Ah, that explains it.

Like a rose

During a detox, it’s impossible for me to stay up very late, so I was in bed by half past 10. I fell asleep immediately and woke up at half past 7 (before the alarm). That means I really overslept. I didn’t have much energy for a run or any other sport, by the way. Maybe tonight a bit, but well, actually I’m taking it a bit easier with sports anyway, because you’re obviously not getting much in to sustain an intense workout. Maybe I’ll swim a lap tomorrow.

See you tomorrow!
