Doing someone a favor

with a food box

As a foodie/healthy/sport editor (or however you want to call me), I receive quite a few nice food gifts from the postman. My kitchen is overflowing with jars of mustard, bottles, tabasco, cans of tomato paste, bags of spices, and various chutneys, so often enough I make grandma, mom, or the other editors happy too. I just slid a bag of broccoli chips under Liesbeth's nose (she thanked me kindly by the way) or I got another bag out of the Bites We Love box. By the way, I did sneak a can of flaxseed and coconut nibs into Liesbeth's bag. You don't have to be a super duper healthy person, as long as you have a bit of love for food. There are many different boxes full of food that are really fun to give as a gift. I share my favorites with you.

BitesWeLove

There I just mentioned. It's a small narrow box that can easily fit through the mailbox, containing 4 different types of bags with nuts. Sometimes with a bit of chocolate in between, some superfoods, or a sugary peanut. Handy for your bag as a snack. You can also make it a subscription to give someone a box of surprise bags every week.

Healthbox

This gift is all about looking as healthy and beautiful as possible. On the site, you can see exactly what's in the box. That changes monthly. You are always spoiled with a jar of vitamins. This month it's one with multivitamins and vitamin D. There's always something you can cook (in this case, a large bag of quinoa) and something you can add to your smoothie or granola in the morning. This box is really for the diehard healthy people, but luckily there’s a user manual for each product.

BoxBites

This is also a box full of healthy snacks, dates, a bag of student mix, dark chocolate, or a chia coconut bar. Always have something tasty in your bag.

FoodWeLove

At FoodWeLove you can choose from a theme. ‘Indian Food Festival’ for example. Or you get the ‘Tasty New Beginnings’ box. The contents remain a secret until you have the box in your hands. You also receive a mini magazine in which an expert (a chef or a food blogger) tells you all the stories behind the products along with a matching recipe. I like that.

Fairtrade Giftbox

With this box also does something good for the world. Because if you buy one for yourself or give it as a gift to someone else, a part of the proceeds goes to the people who grow the fairtrade items. Things like coffee, chocolate, and banana chips.

You can choose between the boxes: Good Morning, Favourites, or Borreltijd. You can kind of guess what’s in it.
