Amayzine

If last week was a week without wine, then this was the ultimate version. We searched for dishes to pair with that wonderful Meursault, giving ourselves pats on the shoulder and chest as we had consumed no alcohol by five o'clock in the afternoon. had not consumed any alcohol and walked twice with a bag over our heads towards the glass bin.

New Year's was welcomed with a Blanc de blancs from Ruinart. A birthday gift from the Amayzine editors, where I was explicitly instructed to pop it before the end of 2014, and since I'm not the worst, I obediently did that.

Furthermore, I spent my days preferably at a 90-degree angle., besides a bit of obligatory shopping, with my upper body against a thick cushion, feet by the fireplace, and the people I love within reach.

January is not my favorite, and to combat the always lurking first-month-of-the-year depression, I book a fresh vacation during Christmas. I can look forward to that. This time we found not one but two destinations.

In May, it's a week in Ibiza. A house with a pool and wifi, child, I am so quickly content.

In the summer, we managed to secure the cutest little house on the beach of St. Tropez. Getting a spot in the front row on the beach there is harder than reserving a table at El Bulli. Here too, there is one day a year when the lines open up, and you call like crazy. After hearing eight (yes, eight) hours of busy tones, we finally got a person (a person, a PERSON) on the phone and just booked such a fantastic little house on the beach of Pampelonne. So I won't step away from that for a second that week, you understand. I was so happy with my booking. Good reason for a fresh bottle of bubbles, cheers.
