End of Downton Abbey in sight
Just the thought alone causes a panic feeling that we still recognize from when we entered the last season of Sex and the City it. Fortunately, we have mostly gotten over that by now (at least almost). But another blow like that will be heavy. Still, the end of our beloved Downton Abbey is in sight.
In England, the filming of the sixth season has just started, and this is accompanied by intense speculation that this could very well be the last. The actors are reportedly openly applying for new roles in the US, where the BBC series is also unprecedentedly popular. is.
Maggie Smith, who plays Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, has confirmed that she will leave the series after this season. “It is said that this is the last one, and I really don't see how it could continue. I certainly can't go on anymore. I think I'm 110 by now. We're already in the late ’20s,” the 80-year-old star of the show stated in the Sunday Times..
And personally, Maggie is also a bit fed up with it. The Oscar winner says that although she has been in the business for about 60 years, it is the first time she can no longer walk down the street. “It's sad that I've been able to do my whole life without that hassle. I could go anywhere alone, but that time is now over. If someone wants to grab you, you can't get away anymore. And what's awful is that it used to be about autographs, but now everyone wants to take a picture with you.. You almost feel like those people who believed that photos take away the soul. There is nothing as nice as privacy, but soon no one will have that anymore. No one is private anymore.”
