F*CK THESE HASHTAGS
I'm going to tell you something about the phenomenon of hashtags. It was created to categorize something. So if there is an event, for example, it's handy if everyone uses the same hashtag and you can easily gather all the images about that event on Instagram.
Over time, the hashtag has also become something that can be filled in humorously. #sorrynotsorry for example or #fromwhereistand but also #I'mjustahuman or #justgiveitaminute. Big Insta people have their own hashtag, think of #Roekoeroekoe by Fred van Leer or #TheBlondeSaladNeverStops by Chiara Ferragni.
All fine, picture of the teacher and thumbs up. But I want to talk about the well-trodden paths like #love #friends and #happy. Why do people do that?
There is really no one who will search for these hashtags, so it brings you no extra visitors at all and it won't guide anyone in their search for photos of love and real friends.
So they are meaningless clichés that really no one benefits from. I see in a happy post where two girls raise a glass of rosé that this is not about the next phase in the conflict between Israel and Palestine. It Adds Nothing. You might as well add the hashtags #women #men and #life.
Moral of my story: stop with those meaningless cliché hashtags. #Lovemyjob, #friends, #fun, #lol. Really. No one is waiting for it. Especially not me.
