It's over. Finished. I'm back in my own living room in Amsterdam where it feels like summer compared to freezing New York. But let me take you back for those last two days.

Wednesday Josselin and Sacha headed for Bobbi Brown headquarters, May and Maartje Verhoef went out on the town and Jet and I started our day in the apartment perched behind our laptops. At lunchtime we got together at Gitane's, the best lunchroom in New York. We had our table filled with couscous cakes, eggplant and goats’ cheese and a steak for Sacha, who needed a manly bite after all those organic meals.

After that we went to the Boss Women show, well we hung out up front, we couldn't get our hands on tickets for such a big show. Hang on a second. That's just what we thought.

Surprise. We got in and suddenly found ourselves on the top floor of an enormous building with a wide view of the city. The newest collection Jason Wu designed for Boss Women popped up right in front of our noses. It was a dream.

Our next stop was a visit to the O&M salon, our absolute favourite. We had a table booked for Indochine that evening, so getting a proper hairdo sounded very inviting.

Indochine is one of the hottest restaurants in New York. I was there exactly one year ago for cocktails and remember all the famous faces continuously coming through that door. We raised our glasses to the closing of a successful fashion week. Meanwhile I was on Whatsapp with my friend Nish who has whole New York on speed dial and knows absolutely everyone. I asked him if we could meet at the Boom Boom room for cocktails. We were all dressed up but had no place to go. It's really hard to get into the Boom Boom room. You can compare it to Fort Knox, The strict girls at the entrance only let you in if you made Forbes at least three times or if you featured in Vogue. But Nish sent out a couple of emails and we got our answer “ you're on the list.”

So that's where we went. The Boom Boom room is on the top floor of the Standard Hotel and gives you great views and delicious cocktails ($20 dollars a piece mind you).

After a mini photo session in front of the windows the first cocktail came, followed by a second and a third. We felt on top of the world but this feeling had totally vanished the next morning. Josselin was going through a particularly heavy phase; she hardly spoke which is very rare.

Jet was up Early and went off with May to film exercises in Central park with Sacha. I stayed with Josselin and just hung around doing the occasional packing. It was Thursday, the day of departure. When the apartment looked more spic than span we moved our luggage to the headquarters of One Fine Stay and parked ourselves at Mercer Kitchen for lunch. After that Sacha, Josselin and I headed for Times Square.

Yeah, you can laugh but we so wanted to see it. The last time I was there I was 16. After that Fashion weeks took up all my time. But now I had a window and I grabbed it. So totally worth it.

New Yorkers hate time square but I love it, it's so impressive. And when i ran into Olaf from Frozen who gave me a hug, I was flying high. Josselin then totally lost it in the M&M store filling her basket with over $100 of personalised m&m's. We know, we're losers.

We caught up with May and Yet at One Fine Stay headquarters and our driver took us to JFK. We were back in Amsterdam in a jiffy. New York was great, come on September.
