HOE JE JE HAAR DOET

– Criss cross Half-up –

Spotted at Céline and Thakoon and a favorite look of Jennifer Lopez and Sylvie Meis. This is about the ‘half-up’. From now on, it will probably be your favorite too, because nothing is more annoying than hair hanging loose with strands in your face. With a half-up, you won't have that problem anymore. Of course, there are several variations, like at Céline with a ring, at Thakoon with a braid. Or you can make it a bit messier and looser, without losing the chic appearance.

What do you need?

Yes, they are back, the bobby pins. Must-haves for your bag. Besides the bobby pins, you also need some hairspray to keep everything in place just in case. Not too much, or it becomes a sticky mess. Additionally, you can create the messy effect a bit better with hairspray. Do you have long hair or short hair? It doesn't matter. Just make sure your front strands are not too short and can still be pinned together.

How do you do it?

This time we are going for the criss cross half-up. Yes, the name says it all. Your front strands are pinned criss cross at the back of your head. How do you do that? Take the front strands at the level of your eyes and twist them together with the bobby pins. Don't forget that after you have inserted the bobby pins, you need to twist them back in the opposite direction. Otherwise, they won't stay secure, and you need that for this look. If all goes well, there will still be some strands hanging loose because you started from your eye. Divide these loose strands into two parts. First, take the left or right strand and bring it back, twisting it over the pinned section. Secure this look again with a bobby pin. Then take the other strand and twist it over the other. Do the same with the lower, last strands. There you go. Done.
