I’M BACK!

Yess hello dear Amayzine friends, I’m back. At least, half. As in: physically I am still in Sri Lanka at the time of writing (and when you read this I’ll be in Thailand), but starting today I’m opening my MacBook again and writing pieces for you just like in the Netherlands, but from sunny and warm places. And that has been my big dream for a few years now: combining work and travel.

Since I first traveled alone four years ago, a travel virus has emerged that won’t go away. In fact, I am happiest abroad and that is not only during vacations. Now I’m lucky that I’ve chosen writing as a profession and in principle I can work anywhere in the world. The only thing I need is a MacBook (check, a beautiful gold-colored model that is nice and small and compact), occasionally some wifi (check) and sometimes a power outlet to recharge (check). On December 10, I left the Netherlands and I’ll be back on January 30, and if all goes well with remote work, I fully intend to do this more often.

So from now on the vacation is over and the working life is about to begin again. But hey, I’m writing this from a beach. You’ve never seen a beach this beautiful, with rustling palm trees above my head and a roaring sea in front of me. Soon a detailed travel report from Sri Lanka, but for now just take my word for it: book a ticket and go here. Not many places have touched me as much as Sri Lanka. This is not only due to the unimaginable beauty of the country, but also because of the incredibly friendly people who live here.

All in all: hello Netherlands! I’m back a little bit. Or at least, I’m back Amayzine-style. And that feels really nice again.
