INVENTION OF THE CENTURY

Look, this is an invention that is going to make the world a little better. Or can be, because I don't think it's on the market yet, but the idea is there. British teenagers have won a Teen Tech Award for their invention: condoms that change color with an STD. Heeee that's handy!

So no more bullshit (ha-ha) about “yeah no I really did get tested” but just immediate clarity. If the condom turns green, you have to deal with chlamydia, yellow stands for herpes, purple for human papillomavirus (HPV and I had really never heard of this before) and with blue you also have luck because then you have won syphilis.

When you think about it, it's just weird that this has never been thought of before. And it's also quite strange that it is ultimately thought of by teenagers (aged 13 and 14, seriously), but we all just take it for granted. The condom works, and that's what matters. For now, it's just an idea, but the boys have been approached by a condom manufacturer to make it a reality. As soon as that happens, we will of course let you know.
