Irritations in someone else's kitchen

I prefer to open all the doors and drawers when I visit someone for the first time. Yes, I am curious. I enjoy the most the kitchen. What's in the pantry, are there some sharp knives, fresh or dried herbs, how much does someone care about (nice) dishes. That kind of thing. I also like to cook behind someone else's stove, but that can sometimes lead to some irritation. So: be prepared, if I happen to drop by, the kitchen police speaks here; this is what I do or do not want.

  • Stupid containers. Just white and boring, I mean.
  • Also, I like to have enough containers. Hummus that I buy in the store gets transferred to a nice bowl. Nuts: everything out of the packaging into cozy little bowls.
  • There must be at least one good large knife. And sharp.
  • I really can't stand a dripping faucet. There must be good pressure on the water.
  • I get very happy from serving spoons. Really a larger version for in a bowl or pot.
  • Also indispensable in a kitchen is a tongs. You know, that thing you actually use for the BBQ. Seriously, it's handy for everything. Vegetables, chicken, fish. Everything becomes easier to prepare with this tool.
  • Table salt and pepper from a shaker. No Jozo, but sea salt. Everything from a grinder please.
  • Then I also really dislike cheap olive oil. Seriously, you can pretend to be a super chef with really good oil. Take my word for it.
