It was quite a party week where the drinks flowed abundantly. We started on Monday with the finale of Holland’s Next Top Model and then on Thursday our own party. Yes indeed, but you would think two parties, but I am really a total wimp when it comes to hangovers. Give me two glasses of wine and I won't be able to function the next day. And tomorrow is my birthday, so I think you can sweep me up on Monday, since there is always a lot of drinking on my birthday. So, high time to pick up those anti-hangover tips again, because I will definitely need them. And you probably will too at some point.
- Take a vitamin effervescent tablet before you go to sleep.
- Also drink a lot of water. Then you can go to bed.
- GET OUT OF BED. There.
- You would think that eating fatty foods helps and yes, you might really crave that, but you get over your hangover much faster if you actually go for something healthy. So no heavy stuff, but easily digestible food. Make a smoothie for example.
- Orange juice is good, because it alkalizes your body, but I can't guarantee that you'll really feel good in your stomach from it. It is quite acidic after all.
- Drink. Water water water, all day long.
- Many people swear by cola, but well, you know what it does to you, right? Just read here.
- A little miso soup helps me very well. You need salt.
- I think you shouldn't think about it, but exercising helps a lot. It's a bit of pounding and thumping in your head, you just have to get through that. But believe me, after that you will be the rooster.
- But then, the very very best tip is: ride it out. That's actually it. Just wait for the next day.
