The Daily Mail news that the Dutch supermodel and the British comedian are separating and a trial separation has been requested. Although the couple has not been spotted together for a few months, the breakup would come as a surprise to mutual friends. The blonde beauty reportedly left the marital home in Primrose Hill, London last night, taking their two-year-old son Alfred and dog Bert with her. David was left ‘devastated’ behind. “He puts on a brave face, but the people close to David are worried because they know he is devastated,” a source reports. David is said to be determined to win his wife back. 

“He is a real gentleman, but with a bit of a twisted sense of humor. But in a good way, you know. We have so much fun. I am very happy.”

It was about five years ago that the Little Britain-star managed to win over the 12 years younger Lara. After dating for just a few months, he proposed to the Calvin Klein model in Los Angeles with a vintage engagement ring. Before the proposal, he had politely asked her parents in the Netherlands for her hand. Later, Lara said in an interview about her marriage: “He is a real gentleman, but with a bit of a twisted sense of humor. But in a good way, you know. We have so much fun. I am very happy.”
