LALA LOVE LIPLINER
Lip liner is really a favorite. I recently went to a party with a girlfriend, a party, where we wanted to look our best. Makeup doesn't interest her at all, so I got a free pass to use her as a canvas. I loved it. The result was sublime, if I may say so myself. My friend was stunned by the size of her lips, which she suddenly thought were ‘huge’. It's all thanks to the right lip liner darling. Also very nice if you have uneven lips by the way, it makes them look so straight. Another advantage of a pencil is that it keeps your lipstick in place. Just make sure to buy the same color so it’s not visible. The 90‘s are far far behind us.
So, how do you apply it?
1. Prep those lips
It's very important that before you apply lip liner or lipstick, you use a balm or special primer to prevent drying out. I personally use the Prep + Prime from M.A.C. because it provides a nice and soft base, but isn't too greasy.
2. Drawing: start in the middle
You actually apply your lip liner in four lines. You start at the dip in the middle of your upper lip. From here, draw the first line to the left (or right, whichever you prefer). Then draw the other line to the outer edge of your upper lip. For your lower lip, you start just the opposite. Here you draw a line from the outside to the inside, to the middle. Then do the same on the other side. Be careful not to push too hard, as that creates a thick and less subtle line. That's not pretty, you know?
3. Coloring in
It's time for the lipstick! I also draw lipstick from the outside in. Make sure to stay within the edges. As a finishing touch, you can add an extra line with your pencil for a sharp effect. Finally, bite into a tissue to remove any excess.
My favorite lip liners:
- Is a bit softer, so it really creates that big-lip effect. M.A.C., € 15.00, via Douglas
- Amazing thin pencil, with a built-in sharpener, Smashbox, € 20,-, via Douglas
- Draws a beautifully subtle line and lasts a long time, Guerlain, € 26.95, via Douglas
